How Does the Kerasilk Smoothing Treatment Work?
Kerasilk is formulated with smoothing glyoxylic acid with additional keratin and silk proteins. The treatment penetrates deep into the hair to create new keratin bonds and stabilise the new hair shape for up to five months - depending on how often you wash your hair and the hair care you use. It is 100% formaldehyde free and completely safe.
What Results Can I Expect?
The Kerasilk treatment will leave you with smoother, shinier hair, it will reduce the frizz and make your hair more manageable saving you precious time on hair styling. It softens waves and smoothes the overall hair structure, making it quicker and easier to style at home. It will not make your hair poker straight but will keep some movement and natural wave. But by making your hair smoother it will improve the appearance
Is the Kerasilk Keratin Treatment for me?
If you have frizzy, curly or un-manageable hair, then this treatment is for you. It will make it easier to style your own hair and will help your blowdries last longer. It will mean you can wash and style your hair less which is so much better for the condition of your hair. It doesn’t make your hair poker straight so if that is what you want this treatment isn’t for you, Kerasilk will maintain body and movement in your hair unlike the traditional Brazillian blowdries. It is semi-permeant and your own hair will return to its original state once it comes out of your hair completely.
Shall I Colour My Hair After Treatment?
It is recommended not to colour your hair for 2 weeks before and after the treatment. It can alter the colour of your hair during the process so we recommend you colour your hair two weeks after the treatment if possible.
Wait Before You Wash
We will blowdry and straighten the product into your hair and we recommend you leave with the product in your hair and wash it at home with that day or the next day. We have found this to get the best result. We recommend you use a sulphate shampoo and conditioner - we stock Kerasilk smoothing shampoos and conditioners.
How long does the Kerasilk KeratinTreatment take?
The time varies depending on the length and type of your hair. It can take between 90min and 3 hours. We highly recommend booking a consultation before your first treatment so we can book the correct time and the correct price for your hair.
